How To Get a Discount

Attention loyal blog followers! This is the blog post you’ve been waiting for!  Today we’re going to tell you how to get a discount. Yes, we mean get a discount on urbanadventurer.com, but you can use these same tactics on other stores or web retailers. We told you it would pay off to follow our blog!

A deal's a deal.

I’m not admitting to be the the savviest of shoppers. Nor do I know all the tips to getting a bargain. But I have learned some things about sales in my time here at Urban Adventurer. In order to get a deal, I’ve learned a bit about what works and what doesn’t.

First, buy in bulk. The more items you buy, the more likely you are to get a discount. That’s why stores like Costco and Sam’s Club are around. Although you will end up spending more in total, you’ll be saving money on each individual item. Ask your friends if anyone wants the same thing you want and buy them together. That way, you’ll both save! When shopping on the internet, it works exactly the same way. Buying in bulk online makes it easier to get a combined shipping rate. This way, you can pay for shipping only once. Or sometimes, eliminate the shipping cost entirely! Here at Urban Adventurer we offer free shipping to any domestic order over $50, so consider buying a few of cheaper items in exchange for extra savings!

Next, become a repeat customer. Stores appreciate loyalty.  And along with being a dedicated repeat customer comes perks. Have you ever been to a coffee shop where you can get a stamp for every coffee you purchase, and on the tenth purchase, you get a free coffee? It’s the same with all retailers. Stores know that having return customers is worth giving out a discount and most are happy to oblige. I know we really appreciate repeat and loyal customers so we offer them a discount wherever possible.

This leads to my last tip. It never hurts to look for a better deal or discount. Don’t buy the item you want right away, shop around a little bit. Is there the same or a similar product on sale somewhere else? Just because you found the item you want to buy, doesn’t necessarily mean you found the right vendor.  Maybe one vendor has free shipping. Maybe another has a coupon for 10% off. You never know where you’ll find the best deal unless you shop around first.

So there are my tips to getting a discount. These mostly apply to buying items online, but you can take these same ideas to retail stores as well. Again, for our loyal blog readers who are still with me, take 10% off everything on www.urbanadventurer.com by using the promo code ‘BLOGDEAL’ at checkout.
